REALTOR® Food Drive
November 28, 2011
Members of the Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association just completed a collection of non-perishable food items for the Kawartha Lakes Food Source. This annual event is just one of several community projects initiated by local REALTORS®. Helping with the delivery are Roberta Summerville, Michael Jancsik, Walter Jancsik and Tracy Hennekam.
It’s back to school time
Members of the Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association were pleased to be able to help local children get a good start to a new school year. REALTORS® collected back packs and school supplies for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes to distribute. Michael Jancsik and Tracy Hennekam dropped off items to the Club in time to be packaged up for the first day of school.
It is the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes to enrich the lives of children and youth by delivering a broad range of programs which enhance their personal growth and development. Donations help to ensure that Club programs can be offered with a guarantee that no child will ever be denied access due to financial difficulties.
“We are grateful to the Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association for providing over 40 Club children and youth with knapsacks and additional school supplies to help them reach their learning potential,” Chris Borrowman (Manager, Child and Youth Services).
3rd Annual REALTOR(R) Baseball Tournament for Charity for the Heart & Stroke Foundation
Members of the Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association were pleased to present Beth Dowell, Heart and Stroke Foundation and Keith Kirkpatrick, EMS with a cheque for $3,636.58 to purchase one PAD for a local school. The money was raised at the 3rd Annual REALTOR® Baseball Tournament for Charity on June 18, 2011. It was a 12 team competition in which 1st place went to Brent Easton’s team – Easton’s Goodyear Tire & Auto, 2nd place to Jason Bentley’s team – The Budlighters, and 3rd place to Tim James’s team from Century 21 Pinnacle. Thanks to good weather along with help from local businesses and volunteer umps and score keepers everyone had a great day.
REALTOR(R) Care Foundation Motorcycle Ride for Charity
One of the most rewarding things a REALTOR® can do is to help families find the perfect home. The REALTORS® Care Foundation works on the same goal by supporting shelter related charities in Ontario. The work of the REALTORS® Care Foundation is made possible through the generous support of REALTORS® and local real estate boards from across Ontario. The members of the Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association greeted the REALTORS® Care Foundation Motorcycle Ride for Charity on July 13, 2011 in Lindsay. The riders are all REALTORS® dedicated to raising funds for the Foundation. Denis Brown, President of the Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association was pleased to present the riders with a cheque for $1,000.00 to continue the work of the Foundation.
